Things are changing to say the least! While we’ve been going through the recent lockdown (we’ve lost count now!) we’ve been cracking on renovating the studio. And it’s all starting to come together!
The first step in building though has been preparation and that’s what we’ve been working on. The studio now has been taken down ready to move. It definitely seems odd stepping into our old control room and seeing it apart but it’s all ready to be moved now! Over the coming days we’ll have more updates as we move and get it all put back together. Luckily we wired it all in so we’ll be back up and running and doing what we love shortly!
COVID 19 Update
Happy New Year!
With the New Year ahead of us and the last finally out of the way, we’re so excited to be back!
With the constant announcements we thought we’d give an update to people wondering whether or not we’re open or what’s going on. The latest news from the Music Producers Guild gives us the following:
“In all tiers, anyone who cannot work from home should continue to travel to their workplace. Work activity that cannot take place from home is permitted under the latest restrictions. Therefore, recording studios can continue to operate under the latest regulations and guidance.”

So as it stands we’re currently still open and available for recordings sessions. We take the current situation incredible seriously up here and I’d encourage you to look at our earlier post to see how sessions are running and of course, please feel free to get in touch with us.
As well as working in person for recording, we also offer Online Mixing and Mastering as well so we hope we’re able to work together whatever the situation!
With all of that being said we can’t wait to see what this year brings both with some of the great people we’ve already worked with and some exciting new projects in the future!
NEW EQUIPMENT UPDATE!
First of all hello! We hope everyone has been keeping safe and well during the lockdown! We’ve been working away at the studio since we’ve been able to come up making a bunch of improvements. We’ve got a tonne of stuff to share with you but one of the biggest (and funnest) updates to the studio is our Teleger Audio Creme.
This piece of equipment has been awesome to use. It’s a combination of a Pultec style EQ and SSL compressor (stop us if we’re getting a little nerdy). It has got a great tone that really adds to whatever you’re running through it, instantly adding a little something to a mix!
We’ve got plenty more to share with you as well so keep an eye on this news page and our socials for the latest news as it happens!
BRS Covid-19 Update
Big new announcement! We’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about how we can re-open and what will be safest for the team up here and clients coming up. We’ll outline our plans below but we’re happy to announce that from the 15th June we will be opening the studio up for bookings! We’re planning on doing it in staggered stages so at the moment we will just be opening for solo artists, single sessions for multi-tracking and duos.
As we go on and things change we will then be able to open up to full band tracking again! The procedure we’ve put in place are as follows:
1) Upon entering the facility there will be a hand sanitising station as you walk in. Please make sure to use this as you come in!
2) As mentioned above we’re limiting the amount of people that can attend a session at anyone time. As such to keep the number of people up here as low as possible, sessions will be for clients only without guests.
3) When working with larger numbers of people ‘social distance spaces’ will be created to maintain safe distances between people.
4) Our team has been briefed on social distancing procedures and to practise frequent hygiene at regular intervals. Surfaces and touchpoints will also be cleaned at regular intervals. We encourage everyone to practise social distancing when possible!
5) All pieces of equipment including, microphones, outboard, mouse and keyboards, amps etc are to be thoroughly cleaned before and after the session.
6) We recommend that clients bring their own backline (guitars, drums etc) to try and keep things as hygienic as possible.
7) The community kitchen area will be out of bounds to all except staff. We recommend that clients bring their own food and drinks in with them.
8) If you’re feeling unwell then please do not come to the session! There will be plenty of time to have more sessions in the future but make sure to look after yourself and those around you! Our staff are also committed to guidelines of self-isolation should they feel unwell. As we go through we will constantly be looking as to how to make everyone as safe and comfortable as we possibly can.

New Gear Day!
We're happy to add this amazing set of preamps to our arsenal! We've had a little chance to play around with them internally and they're sounding great. We can't wait to get a chance to use them in some sessions!

May Building Update
It’s amazing for us to see the progression on the building as it happens. To think what this room looked like a few short months ago it’s brilliant to see how it’s getting along. We’re really excited to be able to share this with you and can’t wait to show you more as it happens. This is just the beginning of some of our plans so make sure to keep an eye out for updates as they happen.
Covid 19 Update
With the situation the way it is at the moment we’ve had to think quite hard as to what’s the best and most importantly, the safest way to proceed for both our customers and our team. As such we’ve made a few changes to the way we operate.
That’s why were happy to announce a few new updates:
Our website has been completely revitalised and had a brand new feature added to it; Online Mastering at BRS. This now allows you to upload your tracks straight to our website for our team to master and get them sent over to you as soon as they’re done!
While doing the website we’ve also been in the studio making our system a lot more streamlined. Including our big new addition the Crane Song HDD Quantum (check out our news for more information on that and a review coming soon!). On top of this, we’ve completely upgraded the wiring giving us an even better sound!
For the foreseeable future, we will not be able to offer any physically attended sessions in the studio for recording or mixing. We’re in the middle of implementing remote attended sessions to the studio so make sure to watch this space for updates!
